Gary Ross To Direct ‘Outback’ Starring Carey Mulligan After ‘Hunger Games’
Posted by Kimmy Jun 27, 2011

Graham King’s GK Films is headed Down Under, mounting a sci-fi action film titled “Outback” that has Carey Mulligan attached to star and Gary Ross on board to direct. Nissar Modi (“Z For Zachariah”) will write the script based on an original idea that he and Ross conceived. Tobey Maguire is set to produce along with Ross, King and his GK Films partner Tim Headington. Producers are keeping the logline under wraps, but the story will be set in the Australian Outback.

Talk about trading up. No offense to Sofia Vergara, but sorry, she's just not in the same league as Nicole Kidman and if the producers have their way, Lee Daniels' gestating "The Paperboy" may be getting a major upgrade. THR reveals that Oscar winner Kidman is in talks to step in for the "Modern Family" star who left the movie last week citing scheduling issues with her ABC series gig. But it's not all sunshine for the film as Tobey Maguire has also quietly left the project; Matthew McConaughey and Zac Efron are still attached to star for now.

Who’s Talking In Modern Warfare 3
By Blake_Morse on 15 June 2011

When you look at the previous voice talent for past Call of Duty games you’ll probably find several names of actors who you know from things that aren’t video games, such as movies or TV. So it should come as no surprise that Modern Warfare 3 is getting the celebrity treatment as well. Not only did they ring in a young Voldermort with Christian Coulson, but they also bagged themselves former Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire!

Here’s the list as taken from German blog PS3 Inside:

- Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man) as the Grinch
- Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) als Sandman Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) as the Sandman
- Christian Coulson (Harry Potter und die Kammer des Schreckens) als Marcus Burns Christian Coulson (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) as Marcus Burns
- Roman Varshavsky (24, Call of Duty: Black Ops) als Vladimir Makarov Roman Varshavsky (24, Call of Duty: Black Ops) and Vladimir Makarov
- Troy Baker (Batman: Arkham City, Mafia II) als Grunt Troy Baker (Batman: Arkham City, Mafia II) as a Grunt
